get in tune with my life

back again!! cny is ok this year so far. i do hate dressing up and to have to meet reletives that will go 'aiyo! yan hui zhang da le, ke yi jia chu le!'(the usual old fashioned grandmothers they are) i do get really pissed off because they forgot that i'm just 14 going on to 15. i bet it will happen tonight when i have dinner in my auntie's house later.

thurs
skipped biology lesson because of the singing audition in guides HQ. my friends futilely tried to plait my hair properly and neatly. forced to pin up every strand of fringe just because i'm going HQ to see ms alsagoff(she's one of the judges and is VERY strict with uniform and hair). it went well(in my opinion, its good enough unlike hsin ching saying that were too soft) wonder whether we would get in.

cny celebrations in school. was on photography duty last minute. was fun. they had VS guys to come over to perform wu shu and lion dance for us. and boy, they were moving too fast for the camera! couldn't set the iso speed too high or else the photo would turn black. class party had over excessive amount of food. we played double wacko in class. people were screaming in fear of getting hit, especially the prefects. oh the screaming power of the prefects!! deafening i say. went out with grace, suzanne to parkway to shop for gabby's present and my belt. and we found both :))i got a real nice bronze belt that matches the outfit :D went home at abt 5 plus. cleaned up the house for tmr's reunion dinner.

sat
reunion dinner with the father's side of the family. started preparation in the afternoon. i was the meat-ball-producer and cooker and the quail-egg-peeler as usual this year. settled all the processed food. me mum settled the vegetables and my bro settled all the prawns, sotong and my father did the rest :) all the aunties and uncles came at around 6pm. we, the older side of the cousins (secondary sch and above) all relaxed in my room and the rest of the kids were stuck at the computer. me bro played tears in heaven for them and nasir and alex and this is what they said-

nasir: very nice eh!!
bro: ...
alex: u know what u could do?
bro: what?
alex: just sit at the side of the pavement with a few of ure guy friends and play this song and let girls walk by and slowly they will come to you... (cheeky smile)

haha, sabby was really tired and slept in my bed. when she woke up, jess started jumping on my bed! arggh!! i just changed the bedsheet. ate alot as usual. i love steam boats :)

today
church as usual. today's sermon was abt our roots. i didn' know that christianity was in china long long long long time ago. haha. anyway went for visitation just came back to rest.

get in tune with my life

sorry!! haven't been bloggin as i'm busy like mad!! here's what i've been running abt for the past week.

thurs
2.4 NAFA. finally passed :):) ran continuously like last time. yay!!

orchid hybridnization. finished subculturing finally!! potted several grown plants. had fun with charcoal. grace and meiqing was really naughty! they parafilmed(it's like cling wrap but stonger, more stretchy and thicker. AKA labratory tape)my hair!! i had to painstakingly take the mess off my hair (ouuuuch!!!). yes, quite a bit of hair came out (are u happy now meiqing?)

valentine's day BBQ!! haven't relaxed for quite a while. we had an overwhelming response for the BBQ. most of all, avina, andrea and grace came and mixed pretty well :) avina thought that liyun and anna was 15-16 but guessed cheryl's age as 21 (oops!). got to know meryl a bit. was really fun. messed my hands in charcoal again in attempt to help kenneth to light the fire. the wind was blowing a lot in a direction where we were disadvantaged. moved to the other BBQ pit in the end. went back really late.

sat
interview day...guides early in the morning. then the captain took 6 of us to guides HQ. we were all going to ireland. 36 people applied for ireland and they are going to take in ten people so my chances is 5/18. so slim. we were interviewed as a group. so me and isabel went in with 2 other GMSS guides and Gosh! they were quiet. the deputy chief commissioner jessie tan and another guider interviewed us and complained that we were too quiet. both of them ended up talking to each other more than interviewing us. the freaky thing is that the deputy chief commissioner kept staring at me! i dun know why she was smiling and kept looking at me. i dun think i would get in 'cause i answered some of their questions wrongly because i was thinking locally rather than a foreigner's point of view. well, dun travel a lot so i obviously dun know much of their culture and how to correct them politely and what is polite to them. anyway, i tried my best so its up to God now whether he wants me to go or not.

after that ate lunch with filzah, meiqing, alanna. then took a train from bishan to buona vista and walked to me aunt's house. upon arrival, was immediately assigned the duty of mixing 10kg of nuo hiang filling. boy was my hands numb after mixing ice cold raw minced pork, carrots, raw minced prawns etc. (karen dun puke upon reading this, if u ever did read this) went on later to painstakingly measure out teaspoons of pineapple jam for the pineapple tarts. and there was one BIG pot of it plus one medium sized container of pineapple jam for me to measure. i also multi tasked to be the dough maker with my brother. had loads of interaction as nearly the whole of my father's side of relatives were there. worked through the afternoon and went home at about 10pm.

meryl goined us for small groups for the first time. got pretty flower's made by anna for V day present. we also got cookies from grace :) we kinda had an interview with meryl. went home and rested and then went to celebrate me bro's b'day at sushi tei. yums :) went for a lil shopping around there as i haven't bought a skirt and/or a belt.

school as usual. haven't started making my own lit notes. arggh! my compos are getting 20's these days, i wonder whether my writing is that good. mrs lingesh gave me maximum 21 last time. only one of my assignments where i got to work over the hols i got 27. never mind. thank God for these lil things.

tues
made my valentine's day gifts thru the night after homework. i have to learn to manage my time better. logarithms are a bit confusing but still manageable. haven't found a suitable belt/skirt. my eyebags are getting bigger, deeper n me eyes getting smaller.

today
happy valentine's day!! got brownies from grace and chocolates from andrea :) my chocolates are piling up. i know i'll get loads of pimples if i finish them all. went to chinese tuition and study...

get in tune with my life

hellooooo! very very busy recently. really wanna take a break. but i just can't. but anyway, i'll rely on God for strength :) and he has been helping me a lot. thank u Jesus :D

CK was havoc, but nevertheless fun. the show was run by all the girls in the team. so we had to get somebody to set up the sound system. led games this time. played the 'play dead' game suggested by ariel :). really worked. anna was enjoying the five minutes of silence and no movement from the kids. the whole ck room was in dead silence for the first time. but after that, the boys were really noisy because william wasn't there to be the so called 'disipline master'. we girls had no power over the boys loh.

i really need time to practice my piano these days. theory is still manageable as i do it inbetween classes; maths, physics, chem, e geog class where the teachers are explaining the stuff i already know :P. should i go for the guides international camp in ireland or canada? hmm... if God wants me to go, he would let me go thru the interview. if not, nevermind then. i'll leave it in his hands.

tues
the arena rocks!! debates are nice to watch but it is hard to debate ureself. and boy, they are dealing with adult topics. my school's team is on next week :) can't wait to watch.

today
THE MOE IS GIVING 50% OFF THE WHOLE CAMP FOR US?! yay! that will mean $1450? so much cheaper. school is getting busier everyday. admin, homework, guides, thinking day etc... soon it will be book and music week, ndp, and what?? i so need time to go shopping for a nice skirt for CNY. i dread it lah but got no choice or it will be a dress! nooooooo! any recommendations? i got a cream blouse and i need a nice skirt or a nice belt to go with my denim skirt if thats the case.

got to go for tuition.. byebye!

get in tune with my life

wow, time really flies. its a month ever since school started. homework is starting to pile up already. why can't some teachers understand that we actually live busy lives and can't be totally commited to homework? we are just ordinary people who has 24 hrs a day for 7 days. we are not super heros that can finish everything in one day.

thurs
orchid hybridnization again. made 2 litres of banana media and a litre of vacin and went media. banana media is used to grow the plant's roots while the vacin and went media is used for the cloning process. did a lot of clearing up in the laminar flow room with a lot of screaming over lizards, roaches, beetles. armed with insect repelliant. we cleared up the comtaminated stuff and sprayed the bugs as well. the contaminated stuff is gross. some flasks that we subcultures last last week grew fungus and the fungus were at the point where they produced an oily substance. anne told us that thats the way they reproduce(eww!!).

fri
singing practice with hsin ching and other guides in the chapel. was really boring and i nearly slept 'cause i'm really tired and cannot tahan only to hit my head on the wall(ouch!). cell as usual. did visual. was not really used to sitting in front of a laptop and clicking while worshiping God at the time. haha. was very very very very tired. knocked out immediately when i went home.

today
more singing practice today. the planting rice actions are quite lame i personally feel. had thinking day practice also. i'm the right marker again for the contingent. that means i'll be right next to my class. now there is a sec 1 taller than me at 173cm! further more she is deepana's cousin (deepana is VERY tall). comes in the genes i guess. still have problem remembering the recruits names as i have 25+ people to remember. headache.
