get in tune with my life
wheeeeeeee! family day was fun today.
my class' stall sold bubble tea which was a hit. we brought one huge buket of pearls that finished! however, it was kind of messy. we bullied the teachers to buy our stuff and i persuaded my seniors to buy my food :P. sales were reasonably well... i had to shout my head off the whole morning, having a wee bit of voice loss now... anyway our class managed to earn abt $600 odd! i guess its the bubble tea and the sushi...not forgetting God!. our class teamed up against the horrible mrs lingesh (not so) to get her dunked in the dunking machine, 5 times!!(mua ha ha ha) revenge has been taken!! x)
another surprise. my father bought me a creative zen neeon!! it was at $210 for 5 gb, very good price. so he bought it. i didn't really ask 4 one... i could share it with my bro. since he bought one, nevermind lah.
the week was not so bad after all... still hectic as a maths rep. woke up late today xP so i ain go to school. is this concidered as trurency? i dun know... anyway i was also feeling a bit sick 2day... i still dun wan to have DC again!! i hate it. we had to write the KC values with their statements 10 times each, which is calculated to be about 1000 over words to write in all. would u believe me if i told u that i went through DC before?
school hols are over :( it was so fun then... still, life has to go on. first day of sch was caotic anyways as usual. now i have to see all those horrible teachers agian everyday. arggh!!!
finally! finished my first aid course and got 2 more badges on the right sleeve! :) the course at the st john's HQ was comical and fun in a sense.
day 1: the YALs (young adult leaders) met up with all of us at the lavender MRT station at 8am. we found out that we were 1hr early as the YALs miscalculated the time. we received the handouts and my friend mei ying found static energy on the plastic cover and put it on my hair making it stand up. we played like kids until the lecture started :P. learnt how to treat and recognise certain wounds, bleedings etc. also learnt bandaging. took a photo with the company in bandages( hehe).
day 2: learnt CPR(arggh). we had to 'kiss' a dummy called 'anne'. i mean talking about rescue breathing is gross. we went back to the lecture room to find the next door river valley high scouts making a lot of noise. our instructor got pissed off and went next door to scold them. as our room was parted with ours, one of the boys opened a bit of the divider only to find us staring at him. 'oh my god' was the three words that parted from his mouth before he closed the partition. did we really look scary? lol.
day 3(today): did the remaining chapters in the handout that they gave us. did the tests and went home. found out that we all passed. i only studied a bit... :P
there were probably 3 things i did: eat, sleep, stare. pollished off my school hol homework and was kinda bored. looking forward to my first aid course but, arggh! i can't go for bowling with the youth net 'cause of that. march hols had never this busy. i mean might as well dun have any right?
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was >full. They agreed that it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things --God, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else--the small stuff."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
do u have a day when everything goes wrong? i suppose so. however, this is TRAGEDY.
morning: go to school for guides. i found out that the person i was supposed to replace DID NOT back out! so i'm not in. thats ok... wait till what happens next...
the captain's daughter wanted to back out but the captain did not want her to. i mean she should at least give a thought of the girl's interest. if somebody is not interested, don't join lah! i think the captain has misused her authority, and talking about of biasness, she says give the sec 3's a chance, so she says that i should not go. i mean what happened to her motto 'we want quality, not quantity' ? not fair right? even though there was no clear person that marches much worse than the others, why don't she have a thought of her daughter's feelings. i think that is too much. if one is not interested, just back out, give others a chance, right? i'm angry about that.
late morning: so i don't go to bishan, i stay in sch for the meet the parents session. we got our report books back and ....arggh!! i ain't like my marks!!! i entirely flunked my chinese with a f9 and my maths position dropped... wow. ain't meet targets except for science... :( sooooooooooooo angry man!!
well... life goes on and on and on... what to do... its not perfect right?
yay!YAY!!YAY!!!small print: i tend to emphasize a lot
i had just dicovered that i am in the SYF cohord to represent my school's guides to march in the SYF!!! THANK GOD!! i'm not the reserve anymore... :) somebody backed out, that was what i was told so i took her place. yay!!
so blessed, i can't contain it so much, i've got to give it away your love has taught me to live now you are more than enough for me
last week of sch!!! i can't wait! wait... wait.....wait...... arggh!!!
my table's in a mess. it pays to leave books under the table, not surprising at all. looking forward to bring a big mess of books home(right...). anyway,i dun know why i keep forgetting to run errands, maybe the last week of school is a forgetful week. a lot of things to settle before sch hols come...
... Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
An executive of the world's largest toymaker said, "We are such a machine in terms of what we deliver on an annual basis that it doesn't allow time to think."
In an effort to stimulate creativity, this company is taking selected employees out of corporate headquarters and encouraging them to think together in new ways.
For instance, when asked to devise a method to prevent an egg from breaking if dropped from 14 feet, one group went beyond the conventional approach of trying to cushion its fall and created an egg bungee cord.
What about us? Are our lives so focused on activity and production that we don't take time to think?
In Paul's letter to the Philippians, he told them to meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report (4:8).
What would happen if we began this kind of thinking together in our churches and homes? Might we discover creative, God-given approaches to problems that seem to defy solution? Would our perspective on life undergo a radical change?
"Meditate on these things" is a great command. Obeying it with our families and other believers could open doors of discovery for helping others, serving God, and living for Him. Now that's something to think about! -- David McCasland
Lord, help us to think of the right and the true, the pure and the noble -- it all points to You; for if we consider what's worthy of praise, we'll then want to live for you all of our days. -- Fitzhugh

I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.
The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, it makes true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.
* bible verse of the week *
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasent at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
