get in tune with my life
finally! finished my first aid course and got 2 more badges on the right sleeve! :) the course at the st john's HQ was comical and fun in a sense.
day 1: the YALs (young adult leaders) met up with all of us at the lavender MRT station at 8am. we found out that we were 1hr early as the YALs miscalculated the time. we received the handouts and my friend mei ying found static energy on the plastic cover and put it on my hair making it stand up. we played like kids until the lecture started :P. learnt how to treat and recognise certain wounds, bleedings etc. also learnt bandaging. took a photo with the company in bandages( hehe).
day 2: learnt CPR(arggh). we had to 'kiss' a dummy called 'anne'. i mean talking about rescue breathing is gross. we went back to the lecture room to find the next door river valley high scouts making a lot of noise. our instructor got pissed off and went next door to scold them. as our room was parted with ours, one of the boys opened a bit of the divider only to find us staring at him. 'oh my god' was the three words that parted from his mouth before he closed the partition. did we really look scary? lol.
day 3(today): did the remaining chapters in the handout that they gave us. did the tests and went home. found out that we all passed. i only studied a bit... :P
I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.
The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, it makes true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.
* bible verse of the week *
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasent at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
