get in tune with my life
just came back from the orchid hybridnization advanced course.
today's 3 hour session is fun. this time it was the REAL cloning. we each took a pseudobulb (which is a small shoot that is the side branch growth of a orchid) and ringed it (making it look like sping onions), washing it with 5% of bleach solution with Tween 20 (a plant detergent) and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake for 30 minutes! then transfer to the 10% bleach solution and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake and shake for 10 minutes then go to the laminar flow ( a lil bench with a blower that fiters out dirty air and blows out clean air so as to make sterile contditions) to transfer it to a bottle of sterile water and have a brief shake and transfer to another bottle of sterile water to make sure to get rid of the bleach and Tween 20.
ok... the fun part is exposing the buds and excising them (another words dig them out) and putting them in the vacin and went liquid media to encourage the growth of new cells around the buds where each cell will grow into one plant! oh the advantages of technology!
[technology is one thing, but it can never beat God!]
I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.
The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, it makes true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.
* bible verse of the week *
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasent at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
