get in tune with my life
hi again! exams are coming up so i ain't going to blog that much for the time being.
sun- april 22 my team's 2nd last CK duty. played the silent game with the kids again. they were very participative and enthu today, including the worship time. was at the laptop most of the time as doraline wasn't here today. celebrated mabel's birthday with a tiramisu for her. sang happy birthday song softly (but the "God's blessing you now" loudly :P)
mon back to sch... was unwillingly skinned by naughty vania!! she used scotch tapeand stuck it on my arm and just ripped it off. ouch!! this is how much hair she pulled out: 25 strands!!! in english class, watched some opera whimphry(is that how u spell it??) show where it showed a baby being born with the mermaid syndrome where the legs are joined together. it also showed children with torrets and a small girl who felt no pain. was a really good one. ss SBQ after that which was ok. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MABEL!
tues got back my geography poem which got an A+. here it is:
The River
Starting small with little energy, The river begged for mercy, ‘Send some rain, would you send some rain? The dryness is causing me much pain.’ God granted its request. In the sky, black clouds conquest. Came, the gentle rain from heaven, Gaining strength, it came even With the earth that steals water Inflicting pain, causing rocks to falter
Now the river’s proud and strong. Taking revenge, it carries along The flesh and blood of the earth It moves on with much mirth As the load is causing more pain To the earth that was slain. The earth fights and becomes more defiant, Making the river flow on a gentler gradient, Causing the river to lose its speed, Meandering over the hollow reeds
The earth is victorious Forever so glorious The river is finally defeated Depositing whatever it eroded The earth recovers from its wounds Reprimanding the river it hounds ‘Fair you well, you are done for To the sea, you will pour Out your soul and exist no more.’ Antagonized, the river cries out But too late, it is tossed about Tortured for eternity by the raging sea
(the words are supposed to 'meander'. dun know why can't get it done)
lit unseen was horrible. i couldn't really write long enough. for the poem which i found was easier than the prose.
today boringness!! loads of hw and cleared half of my desk today because of eng mye on fri.
Send some rain, would You send some rain? 'Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again And the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade Would You send a cloud, thunder long and loud? Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down
Surely You can see that we are thirsty and afraid But maybe not, not today Maybe You'll provide in other ways And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude For lessons learned in how to thirst for You How to bless the very sun that warms our face If You never send us rain
Daily bread, give us daily bread Bless our bodies, keep our children fed Fill our cups, then fill them up again tonight Wrap us up and warm us through Tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time
Or maybe not, not today Maybe You'll provide in other ways And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude A lesson learned to hunger after You That a starry sky offers a better view If no roof is overhead And if we never taste that bread
Oh, the differences that often are between Everything we want and what we really need
So grant us peace, Jesus, grant us peace Move our hearts to hear a single beat Between alibis and enemies tonight Or maybe not, not today Peace might be another world away And if that's the case ...
We'll give thanks to You with gratitude For lessons learned in how to trust in You That we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream In abundance or in need And if You never grant us peace ...
But, Jesus, would You please ...
love this song a lot. made me reflect on what i have and how to be thankful with what i have...
18 april-wed was quite tired today so i couldn't really focus. had chem SPA on titration. finally, after many times of overshooting the volume, i managed to obtain sodium chloride (common salt) :) helped others to do it too :)
19 april orchid hybridnization today:) did some potting of the plants in the conical flask and cleaned the room up a bit. went to practice keyboard for tmr cell. i ain't that familiar with the songs so i had a l o n g practice.
20th april hectic day.went back home straight from school to wash up and went straight for tuition. did compo and some other stuff and then rushed off to meet meryl, then rehearsed for cell worship. made less mistakes this time, surprisingly in the fast songs. thank u Lord for helping me :):)
21 april guides in the morning and we did the Kim's game with the sec 1s (snigger). was in the hearing section. was suddenly called for the leadership interview that was TOTALLY unexpected. went to the interview and was interrogated by 3 teachers, 4 YAs. was really scary. if u want to know the contents ask me personally, ain't wanna say it here. anyway, i didn't get selected also so it doesn't really matter. filza, meiqing, virina and annabel got the positions. congrats to u all!! :) went for NDP combined rehersals after that. was really relaxed today. if i'm not wrong, i thought i saw benedict today. (did i?)
CK duty tmr... got to memorise my script so toodles!
this blog is really dead. busy week so i shall quickly summarise.
sun 8 april easter service. i love the pupetree :) after sermon ate with my group of gals and diones group. grace, pls stop asking me who he is, i dun want to speak abt him. not worth the time u know. i know u'll laugh and say 'thats so stupid. omg'
mon-tues 9-10 april did assembly programme with the guides. we thought the sch international song like flea fly, crazy moose, chek chek goleh etc. was sabo-ed to sing to the mike for crazy moose. there were a lot of echo from the system which made me feel really weird. now vania's crazy abt the flea fly song. here are the lyrics for the african version and, yes, it is a tongue twister (and kind of like a rap too).
flea! flea fly! flea fly flo! vista! koomalah(3x) vista oh no no no not the vista inimini deci mini oolah lah walimini askah mini salah mini oolah lah wat bid bilee o'en do'en boy boy ber dit'en dat en ssshhhhhhh!!
haha. can recite it fast? yes, REALLY FAST?
thurs- fri international friendship day celebrations. another event done by the guides we thought the school toe weaving and the significance is the flag colours of the world weaved together to one long string. yup, we are trying to put our school name in the guiness book of records for the longest string of toe weaving done. thought 1/2 and my own class. missed maths 'casue of that :) stayed back for guides these 2 days to help for the east division campfire prep. did the wood pile and torches etc etc... ended up doing 2 dream catchers while waiting for the captain to come and solve the problem.
played keyboard for cell with very late notice on thurs. made abt 7 mistakes?? arggh! not good!! i dun understand why sheryl said i can play for the main service when i'm making so many mistakes. u might think i'm a perfectionist but for main service, everything needs to be near perfect. a mistake is very obvious, esp for keyboard where there are times where u need to go solo. my chord file came in handy when there was an alter call and we had to play sth else :) but most of the chords were from memory, one song from the file only. really thank God for not giving me a headache this time 'cause the last time, i had a very bad headache when i was playing with accompaniment from memory. some improvement to focus more on what i'm playing (saying too. i had to narrate the chords to owen)rather than listening to the guitar :) slowly does it with God's help i guess.
sat 14 april ndp in the morning. forgot to put sunblock on my face so i looked a bit more chowtar than i am (carbon anyone?) after that have lunch with the NDP guides and went via mrt and bus to GMSS for the campfire prep. did the campfire gateway with some other guides. was one of the taller ones there(duh!) so i had to climb up a ladder to adjust the ropes on top and the spars. we did 4 tripods, positioned it in a zig zag manner and put 3 spars on top of them where we suspended the banners and ropes to form a kinda curtain like thing. was really cool :)
sadly, it rained when the campfire was abt to start. so we had the camp fire in the hall with the 'real' fire. was a sucess though. everything went on smoothly expect our GOH was late, really late. she said it was one of the best campfires she had ever been to for a really long time *beams*. came back at nearly 12am.
sun 15 april sermon was good. we are doing the bible study of the book of romans. romans is one of my favourite books as it is like a debate. its really cool that we're studying it now :)
mon-today i need more time for stuffs that i have to complete. God, please give me more time management.
sun - 1st of april happy april fools :) grass song played a trick but i didn't fall for it :P. church in the morning. 2 gb girls valerie and ???????(oh no!! i forgot her name again!). had good fellowship. went out with dione, yiru, karen. crystal joined us later :) dropped by several places in TM then went home.
mon- thurs school as usual. learnt a lot of stuff. come to think of it, i can't believe that i actually could cope with triple science life. all thanks to GOD :). have to sell this coupons for me school's KC family, alumnae and sports fiesta but i only have one person in my reletives that are from kc :(. got a huge problem now.
fri Good friday :) went to pasir ris park beach in the morning with me family and we did a lil bible study. my dad cycled with me bro and me and my mum drove there. then i cycled back with my dad and my mum drove my bro back. then went out to bugis with grace and gabby in the afternoon. played this arcade drum game and boy, grace is a pro at it. lost to her, even with gabby's help doing the side drums. my coordination is super bad when it comes to drums. went to take neoprints upstairs. took 2 machines. then went to buy grace's art brush marker. cool stuff that is. went to yoshinoya for dinner then took grace to cell. cell was fun, with games and other stuff. grace enjoyed herself too :)
today ndp in the morning. recapped on what we did last week. did kiri and kanan beloh (that is, left and right turn while marching)was a lil difficult especially when u have to turn in a straight row when u turn and the outer column must widen their steps a lot. and i'm in the outer column for kiri beloh but it was fun anyway. ms alsagoff didn't come today :) came back to eat lunch and practicing piano. was playing something really random then i came up with a composition. anyone wants to add lyrics to it?? ain't that good yet but i'll change it a lil bit.
I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.
Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.
The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, it makes true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.
* bible verse of the week *
Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasent at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
